Hello, and welcome to my newish blog, Just Let Me Finish This Page. I’ve been reading almost constantly since I was schooled in the art of reading by my first grade teacher, Miss Brown. She was strict, that one. But I thank her to this day for introducing me to the world of reading. Her rigorous teaching methods made me the reader I am today. And I thank my mom, the late Shirley Hill, for countless trips to the local Bookmobile, for letting me check out as many red-colored books as I could stack and carry home in my arms, for always showing me by example the joy of a good book.
In my professional life, I work in the theater. I coach actors in voice, speech, text and dialects. I had a previous life as a college professor teaching those same disciplines, but now I freelance. Oh, and I minored in English Language and Literature in college, but that’s so long ago it hardly counts.
I’ve been blogging at Mockingbird Hill Cottage for seven years, where I also review books, among other things. You can see a partial list of those titles by checking out the navigation bar on that blog and clicking on Book Reviews.
Recently, not wanting to inundate my regular readers with all things books, I decided to start this blog, where I will have free rein to discuss books, review books, talk about authors, bookstores…you name it. I hope you visit regularly.
